Professional preparation and application
A Clean Substrate Is Essential
Strong adhesion depends on pure, completely dry glass. The installer must identify existing contamination and treatments before creating a consistent application surface.

Inspect
Assess the glass, wiper sweep, chips, scratches, existing treatments, films and sensor requirements.

Polish and wash
Remove suitable bonded contamination and residues before thoroughly washing the glass.

Degrease and dry
Use the specified IPA preparation and eliminate moisture around mouldings, seals and rubber trim.

Apply
Install evenly in a crosshatch pattern. A second layer may be applied immediately after the first is removed.

Cure and care
Allow approximately 24 hours for handling strength and at least five days for full chemical cure before advanced testing.

Is ION Glass the same as the ION paint coating?
No. ION Glass is purpose-built for automotive glazing and works as a single-component system. The ION paint-protection system uses separate ION Base and ION Top products.
How long is ION Glass designed to perform?
Ceramic Pro's current product data states up to 365 days of protection from a professional application. Real-world performance depends on preparation, application, environment, wiper condition and maintenance.
How many layers are applied?
Two layers are highly recommended for a longer-lasting protective effect, and two layers is the stated maximum.
Does it replace windscreen wipers?
No. Serviceable wipers remain essential. ION Glass changes surface behaviour but does not replace safe driving decisions or normal vehicle maintenance.
Can ION Glass repair chips or scratches?
No. It is a surface coating rather than a glass repair. Chips, cracks, scratches and visibility defects may require specialist attention before coating.
