CERAMIC PRO MARINE
CONGRATULATIONS ON PROTECTING YOUR WATERCRAFT WITH CERAMIC PRO!
Ceramic Pro Marine is designed to protect your vessel’s gelcoat, painted surfaces, stainless, glass and other coated marine surfaces from harsh marine exposure, including salt, UV, oxidation, staining and environmental contamination. To maximise coating performance and ensure your investment lasts, follow the aftercare and maintenance instructions below.
Curing Process
- After application the vehicle needs to stay dry for at least 8 hours.
- During the first 8 hours ensure bird droppings, tree sap etc are wiped away immediately.
- The vehicle should not be washed with chemicals within 3 days of application.
If you notice that your car gets bird droppings, tree sap etc. during the curing period immediately remove it following our care instructions.
Washing Methods
Soft Hand Washing (Recommended)
A soft hand wash is the safest and most effective method for maintaining Ceramic Pro Marine.
Use
• Fresh water rinse
• pH-neutral marine shampoo
• Clean microfibre wash mitts or soft wash pads
• Clean microfibre drying towels
Avoid
• Brushes
• Abrasive pads
• Harsh marine detergents
• Acidic hull cleaners
• Strong alkaline degreasers
• Wash-and-wax products unless approved by your applicator
High Pressure Washing
High-pressure rinsing may be used carefully.
• Keep the nozzle at a safe distance from the surface.
• Do not use a narrow jet tip directly on coated edges, decals, vinyl, sealant lines or fittings.
• High-pressure washing does not replace a proper hand wash when contamination is bonded to the surface.
Waterline, Scum Line & Salt Deposits
The waterline and lower hull areas are exposed to heavier contamination.
• Rinse the waterline after each use.
• Remove scum lines early before staining becomes bonded.
• Avoid acid-based waterline cleaners unless your Ceramic Pro applicator has confirmed they are safe for the coated surface.
• Never use abrasive scourers, magic erasers or cutting compounds on coated gloss surfaces.
For stubborn staining, contact your approved applicator before using stronger products.
Drying Tips
Water spotting is one of the most common maintenance issues on marine coatings.
• Do not allow tap water, bore water, marina water or saltwater to dry on the surface.
• Dry gloss surfaces with a clean, soft microfibre towel.
• Avoid leather chamois or synthetic PVA chamois.
• Dry glass, stainless and high-gloss areas first, as these show spotting more easily.
Products to Avoid
Do not use the following on Ceramic Pro Marine coated surfaces unless approved by your applicator:
• Cutting compounds
• Machine polish
• Wax or sealants
• Acid-based cleaners
• Strong alkaline cleaners
• Solvent-heavy degreasers
• Abrasive pads or brushes
• Magic erasers
• Household detergents
• Bleach-based cleaners
• Ammonia-based glass cleaners on coated glass
• Wash-and-wax soaps that may leave residue
• Stainless polish on coated stainless unless approved
These products may reduce slickness, affect hydrophobic performance or prematurely degrade the coating
Maintenance & Warranty
To maintain gloss, slickness and water behaviour:
• Use Ceramic Pro approved maintenance products only.
• Apply approved maintenance spray after washing if recommended by your applicator.
• Do not apply waxes or third-party sealants over the coating unless approved.
• If the surface feels rough, contaminated or has reduced water beading, book a maintenance inspection.
Important Warranty Reminder
To maintain coating performance and support warranty requirements:
• Follow correct wash procedures.
• Avoid abrasive or harsh chemical cleaning.
• Keep records of professional maintenance services.
• Return to an approved Ceramic Pro Marine applicator for scheduled inspections or annual servicing.
• Contact your applicator before using strong waterline cleaners, acids, compounds or polishing systems.
Final Advice
Ceramic Pro Marine makes your vessel easier to clean and helps protect against the harsh marine environment, but it does not make the surface maintenance-free. Regular freshwater rinsing, gentle hand washing, proper drying and approved maintenance products will keep the coating performing at its best for years to come.
